Account Creation & Eligibility
Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. If you are under 18 years old, you represent that you have your parent or guardian‘s permission to use the Service and that they have read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
Registration Process: During registration, you will be required to provide certain information, such as your name and email address, and to create a password. You may also be asked to provide additional optional information to enhance your experience.
One Account Per Person: Each person may maintain only one active account. If we detect duplicate accounts for the same person, we may merge or terminate the duplicate accounts.
Verification: We may, but are not obligated to, verify your identity or account information. You authorize us to make any inquiries we consider necessary to validate your identity.

Account Termination

Our Right to Terminate: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to if you breach these Terms.

Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. However, the following provisions of these Terms will survive termination: Content License, Privacy, Liability Limitations, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and any other provision that by its nature should survive termination.

Allowed Uses

- Exporting your own data for personal use
- Providing constructive feedback on platform features and functionality
Prohibited Uses
- Creating timelines or content for others without their explicit consent
- Scraping, copying, or extracting data from the platform using automated tools
- Attempting to access other users' private timeline data or personal information
- Sharing account credentials or allowing others to access your account
- Using the platform to distribute malware, spam, or other harmful content
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent platform limitations or restrictions
- Engaging in harassment, hate speech, or threatening behavior toward other users
- Impersonating other individuals or organizations within the platform
- Attempting to reverse-engineer the platform's algorithms or technology
- Using the platform for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations
Account Suspension & Termination
Paralel Me reserves the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these usage rules. Our enforcement approach follows these principles:
- Proportionate Response: We tailor our actions to the severity and frequency of violations.
- Warning System: For minor first-time violations, we typically issue warnings before taking further action.
- Immediate Action: For serious violations (such as harassment, illegal activity, or security threats), we may take immediate action without warning.
- Appeal Process: Users can appeal suspension or termination decisions through our support channels.
If your account is terminated for violations, you may lose access to your data. We encourage all users to regularly export their timeline data for personal backup.
Content Policy
Our content policy outlines what types of content are acceptable on Paralel Me. These guidelines help ensure our platform remains a positive, respectful, and valuable space for exploring life decisions and alternative timelines.
Personal Timeline Content
Content that is only visible to you in your private timeline.

Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on Paralel Me, regardless of context or visibility settings. Sharing such content may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
Illegal Content

Harmful Content

Hateful Content

- •Content that denies well-documented atrocities
Exploitative Content
- •Sexual content involving minors in any context
- •Content that exploits or sexualizes individuals without consent
- •Content that promotes human trafficking or exploitation
- •Invasive content that violates reasonable privacy expectations
Disruptive Content
- •Spam, repetitive, or irrelevant content
- •Content designed to manipulate platform features or metrics
- •Malware, phishing attempts, or other security threats
- •Content intended to disrupt community functionality or harass users

Paralel Me offers both free and premium subscription options. This section outlines the terms that govern our subscription offerings, including pricing, billing practices, cancellation policies, and what happens to your data when your subscription changes.

Billing Terms
Payment Processing
We partner with industry-standard payment processors to handle all transactions securely. Your payment information is never stored on our servers. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and select digital payment methods.
Billing Cycles
Premium subscriptions are offered on both monthly and annual billing cycles. Monthly subscriptions are billed on the same day each month. Annual subscriptions are billed once per year on the anniversary of your subscription start date.
Price Changes
We may change our subscription prices from time to time. If we change pricing for existing subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email before the new pricing takes effect. Price changes will not affect the current billing period for existing subscribers.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings page. Cancellations take effect immediately, and you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.
Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new Premium subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with your purchase within the first 14 days, please contact our support team for a full refund.
Account Status Changes
Downgrading from Premium to Free
If you downgrade from Premium to Free, your account will remain active and you'll maintain access to all your data. However, access to Premium features will be restricted based on the Free plan limitations. For example, you'll only be able to view your first 5 decision points and 2 alternative paths per decision.
Any additional decision points, alternative paths, or premium insights you created while on the Premium plan will be preserved in your account but will be inaccessible until you upgrade again.
Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we will attempt to process it again over the next few days. You'll receive email notifications about the failed payment and retry attempts. If we cannot successfully process payment after multiple attempts, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan.
Account Deletion
If you delete your account, any active subscription will be automatically canceled. We do not provide refunds for the unused portion of your current billing period when you delete your account.
Subscription FAQs
How do I upgrade to Premium?
You can upgrade at any time from your account settings page. Simply click on 'Subscription' and follow the prompts to select your billing cycle and payment method.
Can I change my billing cycle?
Yes, you can switch between monthly and annual billing at the end of your current billing period. Changes will take effect on your next renewal date.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
If you downgrade from Premium to Free, you'll retain access to all your timeline data, but will be limited to the Free tier features. Any decision points or alternative paths beyond the Free tier limits will remain in your account but will be inaccessible until you upgrade again.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new Premium subscriptions. Beyond that period, we generally don't provide refunds for subscription fees, but may make exceptions for unusual circumstances at our discretion.
Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide a reliable and secure platform, there are certain limitations to our liability that are important for you to understand. This section outlines the extent and limitations of our legal responsibilities.

Service "As Is"
Paralel Me services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We make no warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
No Professional Advice
The insights, recommendations, and alternative timelines generated by our platform are for informational and exploratory purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice in any domain, including but not limited to psychological, medical, legal, financial, or career counseling. Users should consult qualified professionals for advice in these areas.
User Content
While we implement moderation tools, we cannot guarantee that all user-generated content in community features will be accurate, appropriate, or free from objectionable material. Views expressed by community members do not represent our views or values.
Limitation of Liability
Liability Cap
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Paralel Me, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the service
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
- Decisions made based on insights or alternative timelines generated by the platform
Maximum Liability
In any case, our total liability to you for all claims related to the services shall be limited to the amount you paid us for the services during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or $100 if you have not had any payment obligations to us.
Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Paralel Me and its licensees, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property, or privacy right
- Your user content or submissions
- Any harm caused to any other user, person, or entity by your actions or content
Dispute Resolution
We hope that you never encounter any issues that lead to a formal dispute with us. However, to provide clarity on how any potential disputes would be resolved, we've outlined the process below. This section explains the procedures and rules that apply if a dispute arises between you and Paralel Me.

Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage you to contact us directly to attempt to resolve any disputes through informal means. Most issues can be resolved quickly through our customer support channels.

- Escalation Process - If our support team is unable to resolve your issue to your satisfaction, you can request escalation to a supervisor or manager.

We are committed to addressing your concerns fairly and promptly. In many cases, informal resolution is faster and more satisfactory for all parties than formal legal proceedings.
Formal Dispute Resolution
Arbitration Agreement
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
Arbitration Location & Process
The arbitration will be conducted in San Francisco, California, unless you and we agree otherwise. The arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator, who shall be selected using the following procedure: (i) the AAA will send a list of five potential arbitrators to you and us; (ii) we will each have the right to strike two names from the list; and (iii) the remaining arbitrator shall conduct the arbitration.
No Class Actions
You and Paralel Me agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. Unless both you and Paralel Me agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding.
Small Claims Court Option
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court.
Opt-Out Right
You have the right to opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@parallelyou.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If you opt out, neither you nor Paralel Me can require the other to participate in an arbitration proceeding.
Governing Law
These Terms and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these Terms of Service or the Services shall be instituted exclusively in the federal courts of the United States or the courts of the State of California, in each case located in the City of San Francisco, although we retain the right to bring any suit, action, or proceeding against you for breach of these Terms in your country of residence or any other relevant country.
Time Limitation on Claims
You agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to the services must commence within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues. Otherwise, such cause of action is permanently barred.
Changes to Terms
We may update our Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Here's how we manage these changes:
Notification Process
- •For significant changes: We'll provide a prominent notice on our platform and send an email notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
- •For minor changes: We'll update the "Last Modified" date at the top of the Terms and may provide in-app notifications.

- •Your continued use of Paralel Me after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
